Avalon Promotions Presents
Once again the Tabard Theatre has teamed up with Avalon Promotions, the comedy agency behind Al Murray, Russell Howard and Chris Addison, to bring you a season of exceptional stand-up comedians as they prepare for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
After a fabulous two months of comedy previews the last night is 26th July and we are delighted to have Iain Stirling and Alex Smith with us this Wednesday 26th July.
Iain Stirling, 29, is a Scottish comedian, writer and television presenter who is originally from Edinburgh. He is now based in London and is known for presenting CBBC’s The Dog Ate My Homework, featuring in Drunk History and being the narrator for reality TV show Love Island. He has been dubbed one of Scotland’s “Hottest Newcomers”.
Alex Smith’s trademark mix of laser sharp stand-up observations and cleverly crafted comedy songs have helped him rapidly emerge as one the most exciting new acts on the circuit.
On TV, Alex was most recently a guest on The Chris Ramsey Show for Comedy Central, and wrote and performed the new appeal advert for the NHS Organ Donation Appeal.
He has also appeared on BBC Radio 2’s New Comedy Awards and secured two guest slots on BBC3’s prestigious talent showcase, Live At The Electric hosted by Russell Kane, whom he supported during his ‘Smallness’ tour.
