A series of plays, comedy and serious, that examine the strained and complex relationships between hospital patients and their “unwelcome” visitors. In Plaster, a husband, hospitalised following a car accident, is visited by his suspicious and canny wife. Keeping Mum is a poignant monologue by a daughter trying to come to terms with her mother’s illness. Finally, Show Business follows the satirical vagaries of a TV crew filming a documentary on the world’s first quadruple transplant.
‘The writing achieves an exhilarating momentum. It is packed with sharp lines and cruel characterization, mingling hilarity with a real disgust for humanity at its most mindlessly objectionable’
